E-cookbook giveaway, VegNews awards, and my birthday!

Well, it has been roughly one week since my e-cookbook came out and the response has been amazing. I hope everyone enjoys making my simple, funky, and cheap recipes and I look forward to hearing your feedback. I would like to give away 5 (yes, 5!) copies of Ready, Set, Go Vegan! to my loyal readers to celebrate it's arrival. All you have to do is enter your email address and I will randomly pick the winners on 7.10.09. Please enter here:

As many of you are probably already aware, VegNews is currently taking votes and nominations for this year's VegNews Awards. Anyone can vote and it takes about 5 minutes to complete the form. The best part is that you're automatically entered to win some great prizes including a tropical getaway for two!

You are probably just as surprised I was to see that Eating Consciously was not listed under best blog or website ;) This is where you guys come in. The nominees on the list are picked from last year's write-in nominations. When you fill out the form, you will see a box under each section to give a write-in. Please type in www.eatingconsciously.com for best website and best blog. Even if I don't win, I can still get on the nominations list for next year!

Lastly, my birthday is this Thursday. I'm turning the grand old age of 23. In honor of my birthday, I decided to raise money using Facebook causes to support my local farm animal sanctuary, Chenoa Manor. I have spent time there with the animals and have many pictures and videos to share with all of you as soon as I get the chance to upload them. I would like to help Chenoa Manor out because they currently need about $200,000 to help rebuild a barn to be used to house the pigs and display childrens' artwork. If you would like to contribute to this cause, you can do so here. Every little bit helps!!

That's all for now, but I promise to be back soon with new recipes! In the meantime...
